Volunteer FAQ's
What do I need to know to make this the best day ever?
- Dress for the weather. We go on rain or shine!
- Bring food and water. You will receive a bottle of water and snack at check in, but you may get hungry and thirsty at your post!
- Know your location beforehand. If you have questions – ask!
- Look for zone signs to locate your assignment, if needed.
Parking
There is plenty of free parking at Waldameer; please do not leave valuables in your car. After your shift, please join us at the party!
Beer
Volunteers age 21+ will receive a free beer located near the finish line at the end of their shift. Bring your photo ID to volunteer check in to receive a beer wrist band.
What if I need help at the event?
If you need assistance at the event, please contact your captain. They will have a radio to contact help. You will be given your captain’s name and contact information before the event.
Where can I learn more?
To learn more and ask questions ahead of time and in person, come to packet pick-up, Wednesday, Sept. 4 and Thursday, Sept. 5 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Barber National Institute's Main Campus Lobby. Pick up your volunteer shirt and talk with our volunteer coordinator.
